Better Together – This Month at The Dragon Café
This Monday from 12 – 8.30 pm at The Dragon Café – Intentional Peer Support: learn and grow together
We’re delighted to end our Better Together month on an evening with Chris Hansen, the Director of Intentional Peer Support (IPS). Intentional Peer Support provides a powerful framework for creating relationships where both people learn and grow together. They offer a range of training to examine and practice what is necessary to build mutual support, and help to develop peer/service-user/survivor-led alternatives to psychiatric hospitals. IPS is used across the world in community, peer support, and human services settings, and is a tool for community development with broad appeal to people from all walks of life.
Earlier in the day join one of our many creative activities including the first week of Make and Curate at 2 pm. This is a series of art workshops, the first and last of which will take place in the Café, the others offsite in a local space where we can dedicate a longer time to making art, with an art tutor on hand. The resulting artwork will be shown in The Dragon Café in autumn and participants will collaborate on the logistics of the show. Join us for all of some of the sessions. Session #1 Make and Curate Manifesto – ideas and planning.
