Wonderful Words & Handmade Books

Join us this Monday 20th July at 3 pm for our Live Virtual Dragon Café broadcast with a menu of creative and wellbeing delights.  Don’t forget that you can access the broadcasts at any time after it going out live.

We welcome Annie Hayter, a Barbican Young Poet and a London Writers’ Awardee for Poetry, to perform a selection of her pieces and invite you to her workshop at the Virtual Dragon Café in the City.  She has run workshops with the Barbican, Spread The Word, Headway East London and Crisis.  This Wednesday 22nd July at 12.30 pm explore the different ways that poetry can help us to reflect on memories, dreams and the past, using an array of techniques to write about our experiences in a safe and supportive environment (register here).

Join DC Visual Arts Manager, Li for a workshop on making simple handmade books – useful for gifts, journalling, scrapbooking and maybe even documenting your lockdown experiences.

All Dragon Café Patrons are also warmly invited to be part of our collective blog Connect. Share your writings, art, music and ideas and see what others have been inspired by too. There is already a fantastic selection to explore there, so do take a look!

You can Register on the Connect site homepage to get involved.

This week’s recipe from Chef Chris is a delicious Vegan Thai Green Curry! Download/print a pdf of the recipe here.

There will be more updates each week and don’t forget to check out our social media too (Twitter and Facebook).

Take care everyone,
The Dragon Café Team
