The Dragon Café singers perform at The Globe Theatre in ‘A Concert for Winter’

A Concert for Winter is The Globe’s free annual showcase and celebration of the past, present and future of Southwark, and The Dragon Cafe Singers were delighted to be invited back once again following their 2014 performance.

The singers performed a song which built on Shakespeare’s sonnet ‘Winter’ from Love’s Labor’s Lost, with additional original lyrics from Dragon Cafe patron Daniel O’Byrne, created using inspiration from other Cafe patrons on the theme of Winter in London in 2016. Daniel also provided the brilliant musical score for the piece. The Singers were led by Dragon Cafe’s singing leader Vivien Ellis and were joined on accordion by Joe Atkins, Musical Director for The Globe’s Concert for Winter. The performance was dedicated to the memory of Mental Fight Club and Dragon Cafe founder Sarah Wheeler.

Thank you to Vivien, Daniel, Joe, the Globe Theatre and all of the Dragon Cafe Singers and Musicians for such a wonderful performance.
